Metamora, MI History:

Metamora was founded in 1839, but it was then known as “Barrow’s Corners”, named Eber Barrows. In 1843 Barrows had constructed a station to shelter travelers. “The White Horse Inn” is a famous and historic hotel there. It operated for 165 years, from 1850-2012. Metamora holds a Balloon Festival each year in August.

Metamora is located in Lapeer County of Michigan. Metamora is very small, about 0.83 square miles. Metamora is about 15 miles north of Lake Orion.
